The Hidden Halo: A Detail Discovered in Profile

Some details of a jewel are discovered gradually. A hidden halo places smaller diamonds beneath the principal stone, giving an engagement ring another expression when it is seen from the side.

Just Brilliant explores this idea in double hidden halo designs for pear and princess cut centers, realized in 18K gold. The detail belongs to the setting's profile and to the wearer's closer encounter with the ring.

A second perspective

From above, the center stone can remain the dominant form. As the ring turns, the surrounding structure becomes more visible, revealing the diamond detail beneath it.

This change of viewpoint gives the design a layered character. The ring does not need to disclose every element in its first silhouette.

The placement of the smaller stones matters to that effect. Their scale and relation to the center should make the profile feel resolved, rather than simply more crowded.

Beauty within the architecture

A hidden halo occupies real space in the setting. Its height and position should be considered alongside the gallery, the shoulders and any wedding band intended to accompany the engagement ring.

Two rings that appear compatible from above may meet differently in profile. Looking at the actual pairing helps establish whether there is comfortable clearance and whether their surfaces can sit together appropriately.

For Just Brilliant, this is where a decorative detail becomes a craftsmanship question. The additional diamonds must belong to the whole construction.

The Maison selects D color exclusively for its lab grown diamonds, giving the principal stone and its lab grown accents a consistent color standard. Their difference in scale creates the visual hierarchy: a leading center, with a more intimate detail waiting beneath it.
