Lab Grown Melee: The Small Diamonds That Shape the Design

The smallest diamonds in a jewel often perform some of its most exacting visual work. They can trace a shoulder, define a border or connect the central stone to the surrounding design.

At Just Brilliant, these lab grown diamond accents belong to the same exclusive D color selection standard as the Maison's larger lab grown stones. Their scale changes their role, not the importance of a clear material description.

A line made from individual stones

Melee is a term used for small diamonds. In pavé, they are arranged closely enough to create a surface or a fine sequence of reflections.

Opulent Grace shows how this can become a design gesture. The smaller stones follow the ring's curves and give the surrounding form its visible rhythm.

The eye reads the line as a whole, yet that continuity depends on relationships between individual settings: size, spacing and the metal visible around them.

Identity at a smaller scale

Small diamonds still have an origin. Screening and, where needed, further testing help distinguish natural diamonds, lab grown diamonds and other materials within the scope of the methods used.

A report for a large center stone does not automatically describe or authenticate every accent diamond in its setting. The material description of the complete jewel should account for those stones separately.

This distinction is useful for any design containing multiple sizes.

Craftsmanship in the details

A pavé surface must relate to the gold form beneath it. The arrangement should continue around a curve without losing its intended outline or overwhelming neighboring details.

For Just Brilliant, refinement is often visible at this scale. A carefully considered small stone sequence can give a creation its most recognizable gesture.

The larger diamond may draw the first glance, but the accents help explain why the jewel belongs to a particular design.
